Partnership Events and Fundraisers

Much of the support for the Ministry of Caring comes from other community organizations. These partners host events and fundraisers to donate proceeds to the Ministry and raise awareness for our vision that the poor should never be treated poorly.

• AIDS Walk– 2020 Date TBA
  Every year, the Ministry of Caring teams with AIDS Delaware to participate in the AIDS Walk to benefit House of Joseph II, our housing program for people in advanced stages of HIV/AIDS. • The Daughters of Penelope Casino Night– 2020 Date TBA

• “Easy As Pie” Thanksgiving Fundraiser – 2020 Date TBA
  Every pie sold during the annual Thanksgiving “Easy As Pie” Fundraiser helps the Delaware HIV Consortium and the Ministry of Caring’s House of Joseph II continue their work improving the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS. Please support us by telling your friends, family and coworkers about the sweetest Thanksgiving fundraiser around. Go ahead and indulge in a good cause — your tastebuds will thank you.

• Turkeython – 2020 Online registration begins October 19!
  
  

  Through a partnership with MIX 99.5 WJBR and ACME, and with donations from many wonderful donors, local families may request a Thanksgiving Dinner Basket.

• Santa Row, December 5, 2020
  Over the past 19 years, dozens of the Wilmington Rowing Center’s most intrepid 8-person crews have donned award winning costumes and braved the December cold to have some fun and raise greatly appreciated funds for Wilmington’s Ministry of Caring.

  As COVID restrictions have put the kibosh on team rowing, on Saturday December 5th we’ll be donning costumes and going solo on the water, on bikes, on rowing machines or on foot to raise awareness and money for this most deserving nonprofit organization that feeds the hungry, shelters the homeless and helps individuals and families in need this holiday season.

• Beauty and the Blessed – Sunday, March 29
  The Currie Hair, Skin, & Nails spa at Glen Mills, Pennsylvania will open the salon for a special “Beauty and the Blessed” Fundraiser event to benefit the Ministry of Caring.

  The proceeds generated by this unique beauty event will help the Ministry of Caring in its service to the poor, homeless, and disadvantaged.

• Color for Caring – March 9 – April 11
  Calling all artists! Join Woodside Farm Creamery in spreading some sunshine by participating in “Color for Caring”.
  Our fab friends at Woodside Farm Creamery (reopening for the season at noon on March 21!) invite you to Color for Caring.
  Deb Mitchell (of the Mitchell family) has designed a coloring picture for spring time on the farm and would like you to put your
  artists to work.

  For every colored picture that’s returned to the Creamery before Easter (which is April 12th) Deb and her family will make a donation to The Ministry of Caring, Inc. As Deb says, “No one is too old or too young to color and we hope that EVERYONE will participate!”

• 6th Annual Milk Run/Walk – 2020 Date TBA

  The annual Milk Run/Walk, is hosted by the Delaware Farm Bureau! This event raises money for the Ministry of Caring’s “Milk for Children Fund” and Neighborhood House, a local nonprofit that helps struggling families get back on their feet. Proceeds from the event help Emmanuel Dining Room serve a nutritious glass of milk to every child in need.

  

• Town of Whitehall Family & Fireworks Night – 2020 Date TBA

  Join us for the Town of Whitehall’s annual Family & Fireworks Night: Benefit for the Ministry of Caring! There will be fun family activities, amazing food, and of course a spectacular fireworks show!

• Ramsey’s Farm 5k Dash and 8 mile Smash – 2020 Date TBA

  

  Family fun event covering some of the most beautiful trails in Delaware – Challenging but fun – lots of prizes and farm products for winners – great Tech Race Shirt for first 100 registered runners / Walkers

  Participants receive a day pass to Ramsey’s Farm activities including mazes, pumpkin painting, and hayrides.

  NovaCare Rehabilitation will be on-site doing gait evaluations

  Orthopedic Massage of DE will be providing complementary services

  Custom awards by Green Dog Racing Trophies and age group awards from Philly runner
